Metro and Us

Event: Metro & Us
Has been finalized

Fully funded tickets for public-sector, third sector & charitable organisations available

The South Wales Metro is creating a faster, greener, and more connected transport network that links communities across the region like never before. This event will explore how transforming journey times and opening up new economic and social opportunities is laying the foundation for a more vibrant and sustainable South Wales.

Following the success of the 2018 Metro & Me event, a group of stakeholders is launching a new regional transport, infrastructure, regeneration and economic development conference and exhibition.

Metro & Us will be held at The DEPOT in Cardiff, on Thursday 4 June 2026. Its purpose is to highlight the direct benefits of the years of investment into the South Wales Metro and debate what is still needed, if we are to maximise its impact and realise its wider vision.

The conference will address topics such as:-

  • Public transport connectivity, car dependency and active travel
  • Inward investment, economic growth and regeneration
  • Implications for housing, business and local high streets
  • Social mobility - access to jobs, education and training, leisure and the arts
  • Public-Private sector partnerships and future funding

The event is aimed at anyone with an interest in public transport infrastructure and how it can benefit economic development, regeneration, community inclusion, social mobility, tourism and wellbeing.

Limited sponsorship and exhibiting opportunities are available to organisations working in the above sectors.
