TRAVEL DISRUPTIONS

There are planned engineering works in the Severn Tunnel that will affect rail travel between England and South Wales from Saturday 23 May to Monday 8 June. If you are travelling from outside of Wales where your journey would normally pass through the Severn Tunnel, your journey may be delayed and you may need to use an alternative route or replacement transport, more information and alternative travel options can be found here: https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/engineering-works/severn-tunnel-23-may-20260523/

ABOUT METRO & US

Building on the momentum of the 2018 ‘Metro & Me’ event, a partnership of regional stakeholders is proud to introduce Metro & Us, a new conference and exhibition dedicated to transport, infrastructure, regeneration and economic development in South Wales. Located in The DEPOT, Metro & Us will offer a dynamic space for discussion and collaboration on how the South Wales Metro can drive connectivity, regeneration and sustainable economic growth across the region.

DEPOT
at
DEPOT, Industrial Estate, Unit 8 Curran Rd, Cardiff CF10 5DF

OUR PURPOSE

Metro & Us has been created to:

  • Showcase the tangible outcomes of sustained investment in South Wales infrastructure.
  • Examine how transport infrastructure drives connectivity, regeneration and economic growth.
  • Explore what further action is required to maximise long-term regional impact.

The conference will look beyond transport alone, considering how infrastructure influences housing, employment, high streets and wider social wellbeing.

EXHIBITION & NETWORKING

Alongside the conference programme, a curated exhibition will feature organisations working across transport, infrastructure and regeneration.

More information about becoming an exhibitor is available here

Throughout the day, delegates will have dedicated opportunities to connect and network. We will also be hosting an informal drinks reception following the conference, in order to foster meaningful conversations and new partnerships.

ACCESSIBILITY & INCLUSIVITY

Metro & Us is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for everyone attending our event at The DEPOT. The venue offers step-free access and accessible facilities, and our team will be on hand throughout the day to support any additional needs.

We aim to ensure all guests feel comfortable and represented. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please let us know in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements. Clear signage, quiet spaces, and trained staff will be available to help make your experience as smooth as possible.

SUSTAINABILITY

We’re committed to reducing the environmental impact of Metro & Us and encourage all attendees to choose sustainable travel options wherever possible. The DEPOT is ideally situated close to Cardiff’s main public transport links, making it easy to reach by train, bus, or on foot.

Cardiff Central station is just a short 5–10 minute walk away. Exit the station and head along Dumballs Road, passing the Cardiff and Vale College building. Then turn right into Curran Industrial Estate, where you’ll see clear DEPOT signage ahead.

By choosing greener ways to travel, you’re helping us create a more responsible, forward-thinking event.
